Whichever name you use, today marks the first harvest – that beautiful moment when the Wheel of the Year gently reminds us that nothing lasts forever… not even summer. The days are still warm, but the light has quietly begun its journey to rest, giving night its moments to shine.

Many believe that the old pagan sabbath are complicated… but the truth is that Magic doesn’t have to be complicated.

You don’t need an elaborate altar, seventeen rare herbs harvested under a blood moon by left-handed maidens, or a three-hour ritual you’ll abandon halfway through because you got hungry. 😏

Sometimes the oldest magic is simply making bread.

Mixing flour, water, salt, yeast, and patience into something that nourishes the people you love is a spell humans have been casting for thousands of years.

That’s magic.

If you want to do a little more, I’ve included a simple Lammas ritual. Light a candle. Think about what you’ve grown this year – not just your successes, but your healing, your courage, your survival. Offer a sip of your drink back to the earth. Eat your bread slowly. Say thank you.

That’s it.

Because Lammas isn’t about being the witchiest witch who ever witched.

It’s about recognizing that you have survived long enough to have something worth harvesting.

Even if this year has been messy…

Even if your harvest feels small…

Even if all you’ve managed to grow is the strength to keep going…

That still counts.

Now go bake some bread, drizzle it with olive oil and honey, and tell the universe, “Thanks. Let’s do another season.” 🌾🕯️🍞

My homemade bread with butter, local honey, and the blackberries I hand-picked yesterday.
Absolutely delicious!

Don’t miss a moment of the fun
